WALK TO SCHOOL DAY: On Friday, April 22nd, join us on a walk to school!!! To promote a more physically active lifestyle, Ivy Hill will be participating in a walk-to-school program.
The six starting points will be:
- Douglas and Hintz-8:30 start to Ivy Hill
- Camelot Park (Tennis Court)- 8:40 start to Ivy Hill
- Windsor and Valley- 8:45 start to Ivy Hill
- Pinetree and Valley- 8:45 start to Ivy Hill
- Ivy and Arlington Heights Road- 8:40 start to Ivy Hill
- Burke and Palatine Road 8:40 start to Ivy Hill.
All students are welcome to participate. If you live on the other side of a busy road (Arlington Heights Road, Palatine Road, etc.) you can drop your child(ren) at the starting point closest to your home. Also, you can meet up with the Walking School Bus as it passes your house- you don’t have to start at the starting points. Let’s get active!!! EARTH WEEK: In celebration of Earth Week, Ivy Hill will be holding a book drive, plastic bag collection as well as a Reuse-A-Shoe collection April 18 – 22nd. – We are accepting both children and adult books in good condition as well as craft and cook books and more. DVD’s and CD’s will also be collected. – We can accept shoes in any condition. Boots from rain boots to hiking boots are accepted, too. Please tie or rubber band pairs of shoes together.- Bring a bag filled with plastic bags & film packaging. (over TP, paper towels…)- Collection boxes will be set up in the Commons area. – “Be Cool & Walk to School” on Earth Day on Friday, April 22nd and get a cool stamp for participating.

ABC/25 GET BURBED CHALLENGE: The ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge will take place on Saturday, April 30th at South Middle School. You have the option of running or walking either 1 mile or 3 miles. All Ivy Hill participants should wear white. The proceeds help with teacher grants and innovative learning experiences. Get the kids and make it a family affair. Click here to register.
SAVE THE DATE: Outdoor Family Movie Night coming 5/13 (rain date 5/20). Something new for Ivy Hill this year! An outdoor movie night for the whole family! More details to come.
