PTA HAPPENINGS– February 15 – February 21, 2019

MOVIE NIGHT for K-2nd GRADE: Movie Night @Ivy Hill for K-2nd grade is Friday, March 8th at 6:30pm. 5TH GRADE PARENTS: Thomas Middle School is hosting an opportunity for parents only to “Meet the Principals” on Tuesday, February 12th at 9:15am or February 13th at 7:00pm. The purpose of these meetings is to give the parents of incoming 6th-grade students an opportunity to meet with the Thomas Middle School Principals and learn more about Thomas Middle School.  There will be a question and answer session, as well as a tour of the building led by middle school students while classes are in session.

ABC/25 GET BURBED CHALLENGE: Join us on April 13, 2019 for the ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge! You may have noticed a few changes this year, but it is still the same great event to help raise money for our schools… now only BETTER! What’s new in 2019:

  • The event name has changed to ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge (formerly Just Move It Challenge)! Get Burbed has been a loyal supporter of ABC/25 is now the naming sponsor for this event!

  • No more packet pick-up! If you register by 3/22/19, your race packet can be delivered to your SD25 school. But you must register early!!

  • ABC/25 will be hosting a silent auction at the Health & Fitness Expo. You will have the opportunity to bid on some fun prizes and support our school.
  • There will be an awards ceremony after the race at the Health & Fitness Expo!

Wristbands will be sold for $12 in advance. Paperwork to purchase the wristbands was sent home last week and are due Friday, January 25. Wristbands will be sold for $15 at the door.

SIX FLAGS – READ TO SUCCEED: Log sheets are due to teachers Tuesday, January 22nd!!  Think summer, sun and splashing at Great America next summer!  Students need to read 6 hours (homework assignments not included), keep a log of reading titles and minutes read (a parent signature required) to earn a FREE Six Flags Great America one day pass for the 2019 summer season (these can also be used to purchase a Season Pass for a discount).  Personalized day passes will be issued in May. You must attend Ivy Hill to be part of our program. BOXTOPS COMMITTEE:  FUN FAIR WRISTBAND RAFFLE!  Submit a minimum of 10 Boxtops in a bag labeled with your child’s name & teacher prior to Friday, January 25, 2019 and be entered to win one Fun Fair Wristband! Winners will be announced Wednesday, January 30, 2019 and will be reimbursed if they have already purchased their wristbands. We will be selecting 1 name per grade for a total of 6 wristbands! Good luck!

The Just Move It Challenge will be renamed to ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge!  Get Burbed is a long time supporter of ABC/25 and is also owned by a District 25 family.  We are thrilled to partner with Get Burbed and look forward to announcing some race enhancements soon.  This year’s ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at South Middle School.  Save the date!

Planning for this year’s event is in full swing and now it’s time for District 25 students to help by getting their creative juices flowing.  It’s time for the ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge t-shirt and poster design contest! Click here for the official rules and entry form.  All entries are due by January 9, 2019.  We can’t wait to see your creative designs!

PTA Happenings – November 16 – November 29, 2018

HOLIDAY GIFT SHOP: Join us for this year’s Holiday Gift Shop on Saturday, December 1 from 9:00-11:30 AM at Ivy Hill School in the Commons Area. We are looking for students and/or adults to sell their crafts/home made items during the event.  If you or anyone you know have a craft to sell please fill out this Vendor Request Form ASAP. Tables can be purchased for $10/student and $25/adult. Please contact Joelle Vena (jdmama08@gmail.comwith any questions.
