PTA MEETING: The first PTA General Meeting is on Wednesday, September 4 at 7:00 p.m. This will be opportunity to learn more about the PTA and its various committees. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Pizza will be served. PTA SURVEY: Calling all 2018-2019 Ivy families! Please complete this 5-10 minute survey to share your feedback about how we can continue to make sure we’re meeting the needs of our Ivy families. We hope we can get the majority of our families to complete it to help us make decisions for this school year. The final deadline to complete it is Monday, September 2. Thanks so much!
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES: The PTA runs so many wonderful events throughout the year that aren’t possible without parent volunteers. If you haven’t had a chance to complete this PTA Volunteer Form, please do! Thanks for all of your support.
FUN RUN: Mark your calendars – the PTA kicking off a new and exciting Fun Run fundraiser for the school! This fundraiser is replacing the Stress Free Fundraiser that we’ve done in the past. It will officially kick off with a big student pep rally on Tuesday, September 3, and then students will collect online pledges and participate in daily character lessons through Wednesday, September 11. The fundraiser will conclude with an all-school Fun Run on Thursday, September 12 during the school day.
Parents are welcome to come cheer their students on! The run schedule for 9/12 is:
- 9:10 – 10:10 AM: Morning Kinder & 4th Grade
- 10:10 – 11:10 AM: 3rd and 1st Grade
- 11:10 AM – 12:10 PM: 2nd and 5th Grade
- 1:15 – 2:15 PM: Afternoon Kinder & Kinder Extended Day
We are in need of volunteers to help during each of the run sessions (each session is 1 hour) to help mark laps, pass out waters, and cheer on the students. You can sign up for multiple run sessions and help cheer on your children. We need 12 volunteers per run session. Please sign up today! Fun Run Volunteer Sign Up. Parents are welcome to attend even after the volunteer spots are filled!
Parents can log on and register their students starting NOW at www.FunRun.com. More information will be coming home with the students starting next week.
PTA MEMBERSHIP: It is not too late to join the Ivy Hill PTA. Membership ($12) includes a membership card and 2 log-ons to the online school calendar and directory. The PTA supports and organizes many different activities throughout the school year, including Movie Night, Fun Fair, Field Day, Chess Club, and many, many more. I-FIVES GO TO: Welcoming Committee (Becky Foster, Katie Rausch, and Erin Ejnik) for organizing wonderful new family and kindergarten orientations and our PTA ice-cream social; Supply Kit Committee (Julie Ratzki and Connie Gonzalez) for putting the supply kits together and getting them distributed. Our school is hosting a multi-day, fitness-based fundraiser where students (and families) will help raise funds while also learning important character lessons.
September 12th the students at Ivy Hill will all be participating in a Fun Run during the school day!
This fundraiser will be replacing our STRESS-FREE FUNDRAISER that we have had in the past.
Ivy Hill has a goal to raise $25,000 for Community Building Activities, and to Enhance Our School Experiences & Events!
Help us reach our goal this year by connecting with sponsors.
If we meet our school goal, then the Principal and Assistant Principal will get the opportunity of being slimed!
