PTA Happenings: Apr. 29- May 5, 2016

FUNDRAISER: Do you have a busy evening on Monday?  Make life a little easier by stopping at Chipotle in Northpoint Plaza for dinner!  On May 2, between 4:00 and 8:00 pm, 50% of the proceeds from your order will go to Ivy Hill PTA!  Present a flyer at checkout and they will take care of the rest!  A flyer is on the opposite side of this week’s PTA  Happenings.  You can also show the flyer on your phone.  Find it on our PTA website or the Ivy Hill PTA Facebook page.  Feel free to share the information with neighbors and friends!  Thank you so much for your support!
HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE:  Teacher Appreciation Week is May 9 – 13.  This year, the week will be focused around the theme “How Sweet It Is To Be Taught By You.”  Be sure your child participates in all the activities planned for the week!
Monday, May 9: Let’s “Sweet” It All Out
Julie Soderna, an Ivy Hill mom and fitness instructor, will be providing a fun high intensity/low impact interval workout from 4:00-5:00 pm in the gym for all teachers and staff.
Tuesday, May 10: Ten sweet fingers, ten sweet toes. Boy or Girl, Who Will Know?
Please bring in one baby picture of your child this morning (write the name on back). Teachers will be guessing the baby pictures of each of their students! Their picture will be displayed and returned to you the following week. Breakfast will also be sponsored by the Hospitality Committee for Ivy Hill staff.
Wednesday, May 11: Roses are red, Violets are blue, Sugar is Sweet and so are you” ~Flower Day
Have your child bring in one flower for your teacher (a flower from your garden would be great).  One flower from each student will create a beautiful bouquet!
Thursday, May 12: A Note of Thanks
Have your child write a note of thanks to their teacher. Make a card, hand-write a note on a sheet of paper or draw a picture. The idea is that the teacher will receive a “basket” of these notes/letters that are brought in that morning. This is a great way to express why you think your teacher is pretty sweet.
Friday, May 13: “How Sweet it is to be Just like you” ~Favorite Color or Sports Team
Have your child wear their teacher’s favorite color or favorite team shirt.
NEXT PTA MEETING: May. 24, 2016 @ 7:00 (last meeting of the year)
