Halloween is nigh, and we cannot tell a lie, we are looking forward to seeing all of the kids outside, costumes on, all the frowns gone. There is a lot of fun for kids this coming week, let’s take a sneak peek!

STAN’S DONUT FOOD TRUCK: SAVE THE DATE FOR DONUTS! On Thursday, October 29th, we are hosting Stan’s Van, the food truck for Stan’s Donuts! It will be in the Ivy Hill parking lot from 5-7pm. We are utilizing Sign Up Genius to help us regulate the crowd and adhere to proper social distancing guidelines. Please sign up here for an arrival time. Also, please click here to RSVP to the Facebook event so we can make sure Stan’s brings enough delicious donuts! HALLOWEEN: Halloween parties will be virtual this year, on Monday, October 26th.  Thank-you to all room parents who are working so hard in providing a safe, and fun party for all students to enjoy.  Just a reminder, students are invited to wear their costumes after their lunch periods. 

STRESS FREE FUNDRAISER: The stress-free fundraiser is BACK, now with PAPERLESS and CONTACT-FREE payment options! The PTA is working hard to deliver fun events and activities for the kids this year, while adhering to social distancing and safety guidelines. We can’t do it without your help! Please consider making a donation – any amount is appreciated.

RED RIBBON WEEK: We will be hosting our Red Ribbon Week from October 26 – October 30. The Red Ribbon campaign was established to raise awareness about alcohol, tobacco, drugs, violence and bullying. We would love to have each student participate in the daily activities. Please see the schedule below:

STRESS FREE FUNDRAISER:  We’re bringing back the stress-free fundraiser!  As we navigate the uncertainty of this school year, we felt that it was important to keep things simple and offer a way for families to contribute to the PTA without the time commitment that many other fundraising options require.  The PTA is still working hard to deliver fun events and activities for the kids this year, while adhering to social distancing and safety guidelines.  Making a donation to the stress-free fundraiser is a quick and easy way for anyone to contribute!  Specific information about how to make a donation will be available next week.

COMMUNITY AND FAMILY INVOLVEMENT: This is a great committee that helps our community and neighborhood though volunteerism and service.  In the past we have done a Hat, Coat, and Mitten Drive and a Food Drive, but let’s get creative and plan for the current community needs due to COVID.  Please consider joining and helping us give back to a community that gives so much! I-FIVES GO TO: Welcoming Committee (Becky Foster, Katie Rausch, and Erin Ejnik) for creating special care packages for the incoming kindergarteners; and Connie Gonzalez for putting the supply kits together and getting them distributed. Thank you!

ICE CREAM SOCIAL:  Please come Friday 4pm-5pm to Ivy Hill for a PTA sponsored ice cream treat.  This is for Ivy Hill students only, and families will receive an Ivy Hill car magnet while supplies last.

PTA Happenings– May 21, 2020

Hello Ivy Eagles!

On behalf of the PTA we hope that you and your families have been staying safe and healthy during these unprecedented times. The year has definitely ended in a way that we didn’t imagine but as the Eagle way, we have all done our very best to make it through. We have some news and special thank you’s that we would like to share as we near the end of our school year. 

Nominating Committee: First off, thank you to the Nominating Committee for electing 4 new members to the board for the upcoming school year 2020-2021.The following individuals are slated for Executive Board Offices for 2020-2021 school year.  Please mark your calendars for the June 10th PTA meeting via Zoom at 7pm, when the new Executive Board will be voted in.  Nominations will also be accepted from the floor at the time of the election. Nominees must have agreed to take on the role (if elected) prior to their nomination.  Zoom ID and Link will be distributed the week of the meeting.

Ivy Food Truck Fundraisers: Ivy Hill is excited to provide opportunities for our community to purchase a variety of delicious food items through several food trucks that will be coming to our school parking lot.  A percentage of all sales will be donated back to our PTA!!   Please be sure to share this info. with all your family and friends!!  We hope to see you all there!

I-FIVES: We would like to send a special thank you to Mr. Kaese, Mrs. Jimenez and the 5th grade teachers who showed their love and support for our 5th grade students by passing out their 5th grade t-shirts and lawn signs!!  It was an incredibly emotional day as students and teachers got to say good-bye during this drive-thru event.  It was a great sense of closure, and extremely heart warming how the Ivy Hill staff helped make it happen!  Thank-you!!  We wish each of the 5th graders the best of luck as they move on to Middle School. Soar high as the Eagle as you have been these past 5 years. 


A big thank-you to Michelle Derochowski and Kate Buttita for continuing to work on their environmental awareness committee and help create the grounds of Ivy Hill to be beautiful and welcoming! We appreciate you ladies!

A big thank you to Melissa Sherman, Tammi Grippo, Laura Fritzsche and Kim Greenstein for coming up with some creative ways to acknowledge our amazing teachers and staff at Ivy Hill during Teacher Appreciation Week. They definitely came up with some creative ways to say THANK YOU to the amazing teachers/staff that make it happen for our kids.

Thank you again for all that each of you do as an Eagle! We ended this year differently but we still manage to be strong and come through together. Thank you!

PTA NOMINATING COMMITTEE: It’s the time of year where we need to nominate individuals for a few positions for our PTA Executive Board. We are currently looking for a Co-President, Treasurer, 1st VP and 3rd VP. If you know someone that will be a good fit for any position or even are interested yourself, please fill out this Google Form by Friday, March 20. This form contains a summary of each position. Everything our PTA does isn’t possible without all of you, so please take the time to nominate for these positions.

ABC/25 GET BURBED CHALLENGE: Audition now to perform the national anthem live at the ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge! D25 students may audition by sending a video recording of themselves or with one friend performing the national anthem “a capella” to abc25challenge@gmail.com. In your video, please state your name, grade, and school. Entries must be received by 11:59 pm, Sunday, March 15. 

Register today for the 9th Annual ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge! Choose the 5k or 1 mile and walk or run with friends and neighbors who are coming together to support the ABC/25 Foundation. All proceeds from this event go directly back to SD25 classrooms through grants awarded to the teachers! Register by Friday, March 22 to receive early registration perks including a $5 discount on the entry fee, a guaranteed race t-shirt and the option to have your race packet delivered to your D25 school. Race day is Saturday, April 25, 2020! REGISTER NOW!

IVY K-2nd GRADE MOVIE NIGHT: Movie Night @Ivy Hill for K-2nd grade is Friday, March 13 at 6:30pm. Come and join the fun!!  Bring a sleeping bag and hang out in your PJ’s to watch Frozen 2 with your friends.  Doors will open at 6:15pm and the movie will start promptly at 6:30pm.  Pickup will be at 8:15. Please make sure that all kids are signed in and checked out the night of the event.  If you didn’t already submit your permission slip, you can pay $7 at the door.
