ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS COMMITTEE: Start collecting your new and gently used books for the Ivy Hill Book Drive, which will take place March 30th – April 10th. Collection bins will be located in the Commons area. A small portion of these books will be going to our new teachers’ classrooms. The other portion will be donated to Bernie’s Book Bank to increase book ownership among at-risk infants, toddlers & school age children through out Chicagoland. REFLECTIONS: Is the National PTA arts program that asks children to get creative! Illinois PTA sent 26 projects to the National PTA level of the program this year. National results will be published on May 1.
Illinois PTA has a Facebook page! http://www.facebook.com/ILPTAArts. The page will be showcasing the 26 projects that advanced to National.
SPOTLIGHT is an event that celebrates children, art and community. It will be held on Mar. 28th at Millikin University in Decatur. SPOTLIGHT is FREE and open to all children in Illinois. The day includes art workshops and galleries of all 519 projects that were sent to the Illinois PTA level of Reflections. It is a wonderful day for the family with workshops for all ages. REFLECTIONS: Congratulations to Dishanee Ghosh, Amanda Kim, Allison Liigsoo, Leah Oyen, Eeshaana Majumdar, Vyom Goswami, Trisha Deepak, Akshansh Chauhan, Verena Guirguis, Natalie Michael and Anusha Parikh for submitting their Reflections entries. All of their projects have advanced to the Arlington Heights Council Level and also to the PTA District 37 Level. In addition Natalie Michael and Leah Oyen’s entries have advanced to PTA IL State level. Thanks for your hard work and effort representing Ivy Hill!

So far this school year, participating families have brought in $675 worth of donations to Ivy Hill School. Signing up is easy!
