October is half over, in person learning to begin, noises fill the school, and at home, a reduction in the din. How can you support Ivy Hill? Well read the Happenings to be in the know, and join if you will.
PTA MEETING: Please join us for our meeting on Wednesday, November 4th @ 7pm, where you can learn all about PTA and the various committees. All parents are invited and encouraged to attend. Contact our PTA Co-Presidents Julie Soderna (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Jennifer Sadowski (email@example.com) with questions.
PTA MEMBERSHIP: It is not too late to join the Ivy Hill PTA. Membership ($12) includes a membership card and 2 log-ons to the online school calendar and directory. The PTA supports and organizes many different activities throughout the school year. This year will look a little different, but we plan to have fun activities regardless. To join, please click this link. If you have any questions, please contact Melissa Vanburen (firstname.lastname@example.org).
AMAZONSMILE: Support the Ivy Hill PTA through AmazonSmile! If you’re an Amazon user, you can make a difference while you shop on Amazon. Just in time for Prime Day, there’s a new, easy way for you to support the Ivy Hill PTA! Before you start your shopping, go to https://smile.amazon.com/ch/36-3673393 and confirm that you would like to support the Ivy Hill PTA. Then just shop as you normally would, and the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to the PTA. No additional work necessary! Please contact Katie Taranda if you have any questions, email@example.com.
STAN’S DONUT FOOD TRUCK: SAVE THE DATE FOR DONUTS! On Thursday, October 29th, we are hosting Stan’s Van, the food truck for Stan’s Donuts! It will be in the Ivy Hill parking lot from 5-7pm. A sign-up genius will be sent out for people to reserve their arrival time so we can adhere to the proper social distancing guidelines. Masks must be worn. We hope to see you there!
HALLOWEEN: Halloween is right around the corner! Even though classroom parties will look different this year, we are still dedicated to helping the students celebrate the day, in some capacity. More information coming soon!
ROOM PARENTS: We are still in need of Room Reps for a bunch of classes! If you would like to help out in your child’s classroom this year, please sign up! We especially need volunteers in these classes: Schefske, Likes, Sobanski, and Hansen. Click here for the SignUp Genius Link. Thank you so much! Email Kim Eckert at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions.
REFLECTIONS: Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with PTA Reflections! This year’s theme, “I Matter Because…,” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts. Click here for the form, which needs to be returned by November 2nd to Kim Eckert. For inspiration, visit the Reflections virtual art gallery and learn more ab out prizes and scholarships at PTA.org/Reflections/Awards.
STRESS FREE FUNDRAISER: We’re bringing back the stress-free fundraiser! As we navigate the uncertainty of this school year, we felt that it was important to keep things simple and offer a way for families to contribute to the PTA without the time commitment that many other fundraising options require. The PTA is still working hard to deliver fun events and activities for the kids this year, while adhering to social distancing and safety guidelines. Making a donation to the stress-free fundraiser is a quick and easy way for anyone to contribute! Specific information about how to make a donation will be available next week.
RED RIBBON WEEK: October 26th- October 31st is Red Ribbon Week! More information coming very soon!
I-FIVES: Thank you to Katie Taranda for setting up our partnership with Amazon Smile as well as Stan’s Doughnut Truck! These fundraisers will directly benefit our Ivy Hill students!
SCHOOL BOARD MEETING: The next school board meeting is Thursday, November 12th @ 7:30pm at the Dunton Administration Building. To watch remotely, click here.
