PTA Calendar

Thank you to everyone who attended our first meeting this week! It was so nice to see familiar and new faces.  We look forward to seeing you all again next month.  Be sure to reach out to someone new to Ivy Hill and welcome them to attend the next meeting!   If you are new, please don’t hesitate to walk up to an individual or a group and introduce yourself.  We promise you this is a great group and you will find your place(s)! It’s important to remember that we are all parents volunteering our time to give all our children enriching experiences while at Ivy Hill!

Back by popular demand!!!  Our “Stress Free Fundraiser” was so successful last year, that we are doing it again this year!  You should have received the flyer through back pack mail today.  This year, it is the only fall fundraiser we are doing, so please consider participating!  Like last year, we are striving for each family to donate 3 hours of your time and $30 towards our fundraising efforts.  Our PTA sponsors many great activities throughout the year, and we can’t do it without your time and money!  Remember all donations towards our Stress Free Fundraiser are tax deductible, and 100% of the money you donate will go towards the great activities sponsored by our PTA!  If you have any questions, please contact Caroleen Guiwargis at cguiwargis@yahoo.com or Kelly Nix at Kelly.nix630@gmail.com

This year’s Reflections theme is:  Within Reach!  To participate there are a few easy steps…

  1. Turn in your student interest form into the office.
  2. The rules and entry form will then be sent to you.
  3. Create using dance, music, writing, film, photography and/or visual arts!
  4. Turn in your project by October 27th!
  5. Let your creativity be recognized and acknowledged!

For more information contact:  Claudine Mele cmmele@gmail.com or Sherri Kontos sherri.kontos@pepsico.com.

*New this year…Come to the Reflections kickoff night at South Middle School on Oct. 2nd at 6:00! There will be stations for you to create and you might get some ideas for your project!!!*

It is not too late to join the Ivy Hill PTA!  Membership ($10 for individual, $15 for family) includes online school calendar and directory. The PTA supports and organizes many different activities throughout the school year, including Movie Night, Fun Fair, Field Day, Running Club, Chess Club, and many, many more.  To join, click the Ivy Hill PTA Membership application 2017-2018  Questions?  Contact Louann Benbow (benbowunit@gmail.com).

Is your PTA committee looking to promote an event or share a link for volunteer sign-up? Contact the WebMasters and let us help you get the word out!  Our Ivy Hill Community would love to see what exciting events are on the horizon and find out how they can help.  Send an e-mail to Emily emmorrison@sbcglobal.net and Jennifer Jenzerbenz@gmail.com to get the process started.  Don’t forget to CC our two Co-Presidents so they can keep up with your amazing efforts!

Also, if you haven’t done so already, please like our PTA Facebook page “Ivy Hill Elementary PTA.”  We appreciate your interest in building our community and thank you in advance for liking posts to help the messages spread to a wider audience!

Interested in volunteering at Ivy Hill? The PTA has a wide variety of opportunities available. Whether you like to be interacting with students or helping out behind the scenes, we are certain you will find a fun committee to work with. Volunteer opportunities exist for moms and dads and can fit a variety of schedules. Contact Jennifer Sadowski (jenjen5757@aol.com) with any questions.
