Notes from Co -Presidents Louann & Luanne: Thank you to everyone who attended our first meeting this week! It was so nice to see familiar and new faces. Looking forward to seeing you all again next month.
Speaking of new faces…remember what it felt like when you were new? Were you lucky enough to have a friend or neighbor to go to meetings or events with? Probably not. Was it awkward and intimidating? Probably. Let’s all go out of our way to welcome our newest members by being the person you wished had welcomed you!
If you are new, please don’t hesitate to walk up to an individual or a group and introduce yourself. We promise you this is a great group and you will find your place(s)! It’s important to remember that we are all parents volunteering our time to give all our children enriching experiences while at Ivy Hill!
As you may have noticed, the school is going paperless. This means that the PTA Happenings will be online only. If you know someone who does not have access to the internet please have them contact us. We also have a Facebook page and the link can be found below.
Thank you so much to all our Committee chairs who are working so hard to make our events happen! A gentle reminder that a part of your duties are to attend the monthly meetings…especially important when your committee has an event coming up. Meetings are a good place to recruit volunteers! Also, don’t forget to send your news to the PTA HAPPENINGS (Ivypacket@gmail.com) no later than Thursdays at noon. With only email and online communication this is more important than ever!

Interested in volunteering at Ivy Hill? The PTA has a wide variety of opportunities available. Whether you like interacting with students or helping out behind the scenes, we are certain you will find a fun committee to work with. Volunteer opportunities exist for moms and dads and can fit a variety of schedules. BOX TOPS/SHOPAROO COMMITTEE: Do you buy products from brands like Ziploc, Land O’ Lakes, Annie’s, General Mills and Hefty? If so, don’t forget to cut the pink Box Top labels from the boxes put them in a labeled bag/envelope and send them to school in your child’s backpack. It’s an easy way to earn money for Ivy Hill!
We are happy to announce that Ivy Hill will be receiving a check for almost $500 from all of your Shoparoo receipts. Please remember to keep scanning!
DIRECTORY COMMITTEE: The directory is being finalized now. If you’ve changed your phone number or email since you registered for school and would like the updated information reflected in the directory this year, please send any changes to Amy Hoffman (email@example.com) by Friday, September 30th.
–You MUST be a member of the Ivy Hill PTA to access the directory.

Back by popular demand!!! Our “Stress Free Fundraiser” was so successful last year, that we are doing it again this year! You should have received the flyer through back pack mail today. This year, it is the only fall fundraiser we are doing, so please consider participating! Like last year, we are striving for each family to donate 3 hours of your time and $30 towards our fundraising efforts. Our PTA sponsors many great activities throughout the year and we can’t do it without your time and money! Remember all donations towards our Stress Free Fundraiser are tax deductible, and 100% of the money you donate will go towards the great activities sponsored by our PTA! ABC/25: Help your school Earn $2,500 – Become a member of ABC/25 Foundation! New this year –>Yankee Candle Fundraiser starts September 1st. Proceeds from membership and fundraisers benefit Foundation teacher grant programs.
The ABC/25 Foundation is an independent non-profit volunteer organization that raises funds for innovative learning initiatives that are not otherwise supported by District funds. Learn more at www.abc25.org
