EVERYBODY COUNTS COMMITTEE:  Everybody Counts Week is coming Nov 13-17.   Everybody Counts is a program designed to teach children about various disabilities and how children with these challenges cope with them.  The goal is understanding, to help everyone look for the person behind the disability, and to create a climate in which we all feel at ease with our differences.  Each presentation will provide the children with an opportunity to experience what it would be like to cope with a disability.  Would you like the opportunity to lead your child’s class in this experience?  A script will be provided, and there are typically 4-5 volunteers who share each presentation.  Please contact Stephanie Lazzari (slpturtles@gmail.com) to be added to our volunteer list.  When the dates and times are confirmed for each grade level, we’ll follow up with you to confirm if you are available at those times.  Also, Everybody Counts is in need of clean, empty gallon milk jugs.  Please drop these off in the bin provided in the front hall at school.  Thank you!!  Sign up here!  Everybody Counts Volunteer Signup

BOXTOPS/SHOPAROO COMMITTEE:   Are your kids bored at home now that the weather is turning cold?  Send them on a Box Top scavenger hunt!  Have them hunt for Box Top labels on many of your family’s favorite products (Cheerios, Annie’s, Lysol Cleaners, Ziploc, Hefty Garbage Bags and much more).  After the game, label a bag with your child’s name/teacher and send them into school.  Not only can it be a fun activity, it is also a great way for the school to earn extra money that is utilized for your children’s benefit.  Also, don’t forget to scan your receipts into the Shoparoo App!  For more information go to www.shoparoo.com

MEMBERSHIP – Directory 2017-2018 – Thank you to everyone who has joined the Ivy Hill PTA this year!  The student directory has been updated, and you should now have access.  If you would like access, it is not too late to join the PTA.  Not only will you gain access to the directory and on-line calendar, but you will help support all of our wonderful activities and programs.  Simply complete this PTA Membership Application-2017-2018 and return it via backpack mail.  Should you have any questions, please contact Louann Benbow at benbowunit@gmail.com.

STRESS-FREE FUNDRAISER:  Back by popular demand!!! Our “Stress Free Fundraiser” was so successful last year, that we are doing it again this year!  This year, it is the only fall fundraiser we are doing, so please consider participating!  Like last year, we are striving for each family to donate 3 hours of your time and $30 towards our fundraising efforts.  Our PTA sponsors many great activities throughout the year, and we can’t do it without your time and money!  Remember all donations towards our Stress Free Fundraiser are tax deductible, and 100% of the money you donate will go towards the great activities sponsored by our PTA!  If you have any questions, please contact Caroleen Guiwargis at cguiwargis@yahoo.com or Kelly Nix at Kelly.nix630@gmail.com

 

PTA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:  Interested in volunteering at Ivy Hill? The PTA has a wide variety of opportunities available. Whether you like to be interacting with students or helping out behind the scenes, we are certain you will find a fun committee to work with.
