PTA Happenings – April 7-13, 2017

NOMINATING COMMITTEE:   YOUR VOTES ARE NEEDED AT THE NEXT PTA MEETING!  The nominations for the PTA Executive Committee for next year are:

We will be voting on the slate at the April 11 meeting.  Nominations from the floor will be accepted, as well.  Please plan to attend this meeting – your votes are needed!

BOOK FAIR is NEXT WEEK — Wednesday, April 12th from 3:30pm-8:00pm.  The Ivy Hill PTA is once again partnering with Scholastic Books to bring you this year’s BOOK FAIR fundraiser!  Scholastic brings a wide variety of books, many at discounted prices.  Please join us and stock up on some new books to keep the kids reading as the school year comes to a close and summer is just around the corner!  Students will have an opportunity to preview the books during class, on Tuesday, April 11th.  We need volunteers for both the preview day and the Book Fair.  Here’s a link to sign-up to volunteer: Sign-up Genius Book Fair Link.  If you have questions regarding volunteer opportunities or general questions about book fair, please contact Judy Newman at judy.ivyhillmom@gmail.com or  Lynn Feder at lynnfeder@hotmail.com.

YEARBOOK COMMITTEE:  Get your pictures in the yearbook! The Yearbook Staff invites you to submit photos for the yearbook. If you’ve got great photos of school events, please submit them.  Our photographers can’t be everywhere. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have.  We prefer small group photos and all the kids in the photo need to attend Ivy Hill.

Here is how you can submit photos online:
• Go to: https://images.memoryebooks.com/login
• If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter username: 406033618
• Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload.
• Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information.
• Click “Save Details”.

JUST MOVE IT! CHALLENGE:  The Just Move it! Challenge 5k and 1 Mile run/walk fundraiser will be held on April 22nd at South Middle School.  The planning team is currently looking for local businesses, organizations, and individuals to sponsor the event.  For suggestions or more information on being a sponsor, contact jmichallenge@gmail.com.  Early registration for the JMI Challenge is now open to all walkers and runners!  Please click here to register.  In order to guarantee that you receive a t-shirt for the race, you must register before April 7, 2017.  If anyone would like to volunteer to help with the race, please sign up here.
