AHC PTA SCHOLARSHIPS:  The Arlington Heights Council of PTAs is accepting applications for their 2023 high school senior scholarship program. Nine graduating seniors will be awarded $1,000 each. Six achievement scholarships will be awarded as well as three Power of Courage. Applications are due on February 26, 2023 and the scholarship breakfast will be held on April 27, 2023. League of Women Voters & AHML School Board Zoom Candidate Forums: League of Women Voters Arlington Heights-Mt. Prospect-Buffalo Grove and the AHML will present two candidate forums on Thursday, March 2, 2023, starting at 7pm. SD25 Candidates will be at 7pm then D214 Candidates at 8:15pm. Both are free, Zoom events and open to the public, but registration is required. Register at https://bit.ly/lwvforum23 or at lwvah.org or ahml.org thru events calendar. Only 1 registration is required for access to both forums. After registering, participants will receive an email with Zoom info. You may send in your questions to be answered by all candidates. Good, quality questions that pertain to the office sought make the difference. I-FIVES: Thank you to all of our amazing Classroom Representatives who volunteered their time and energy to plan and host the Classroom Valentine’s Day Parties last week! We saw so many pictures and heard lots of stories of great games, activities and crafts! The students had a ton of fun!

Thank you to our Hospitality Committee Chair, Joelle Vena, for coordinating a wonderful dinner for teachers and staff during conferences last week! It was greatly appreciated!

I-FIVES: Congratulations to our 4th grade Eagle, Aaradhy, who won the t-shirt design contest for the ABC25 GetBurbed Challenged! His design was picked out of over 60 designs submitted throughout the district, and now he gets to pick the color of the t-shirt for the big race! The Annual ABC25 GetBurbed 5k Race will be held on April 15, 2023!

HOLIDAY LIGHTS RECYCLING: When going through your holiday decorations, many times you discover strings of lights that are not working and into the garbage they go. Instead of tossing away lights that are not usable, please consider recycling any strings of lights or extension cords. Give your lights new life with our Holiday Lights Recycling Program. The Ivy Hill PTA will be collecting unwanted lights for recycling. A collection box will be set up in the Commons area 12/9/22-1/13/23. Lights that will be accepted for this program are: mini-lights, C7 lights, C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights and extension cords. All colors and lengths, both working and non-working, will be accepted.

HOLIDAY PTA DONATION OPTION: For anyone interested in helping the PTA with our Holiday Fundraising, Direct Donations are still an option! Direct Donations are a great way for busy families to support the PTA without having to buy or sell anything – a choice we’ve been asked for and are delivering on.
