GIVE THE GIFT OF EDUCATION THIS HOLIDAY SEASON! The Arlington Heights Council of PTAs (AHCPTAs) together with its nine school Parent Teacher Associations (PTAs) in School District 25 (SD25), uses donations and the money it raises each year to help college-bound local seniors pay for college-related costs. Scholarships are available to worthy students through an application and blind selection process. The amount of scholarships awarded each year depends solely on the amount received through donations and the support of our SD25 PTAs.  Donations are tax deductible! ACHPTAs is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Visit the AH Council of PTAs Webstore and donate:   https://sd25.revtrak.net/PTA/AH-Council-Of-PTAs/

NOMINATING COMMITTEE: Nominating committee needs your help to pick next year’s executive board.  We need 5 people to form this committee, as well as 2 alternates. The nominating committee will meet 2-3 times to go over the nominations and decide on the best candidate for each position. If you are interested please email Suzanne (svkrause@hotmail.com) and Caroleen (svkrause@hotmail.com) so that they can form a committee.

JUST MOVE IT CHALLENGE: The ABC/25 Foundation is excited to announce Get Burbed as naming sponsor for our annual 5K/1 Mile Challenge! The Just Move It Challenge will be renamed to ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge!  Get Burbed is a long time supporter of ABC/25 and is also owned by a District 25 family.  We are thrilled to partner with Get Burbed and look forward to announcing some race enhancements soon.  This year’s ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at South Middle School.  Save the date!

Planning for this year’s event is in full swing and now it’s time for District 25 students to help by getting their creative juices flowing.  It’s time for the ABC/25 Get Burbed Challenge t-shirt and poster design contest! Click here for the official rules and entry form.  All entries are due by January 9, 2019.  We can’t wait to see your creative designs!

SIX FLAGS – READ TO SUCCEED:  Think summer, sun and splashing at Great America next summer!  Students need to read 6 hours (homework assignments not included), keep a log of reading titles and minutes read (a parent signature required) to earn a FREE Six Flags Great America one day pass for the 2019 summer season (these can also be used to purchase a Season Pass for a discount).  Personalized day passes will be issued in May. You must attend Ivy Hill to be part of our program. Log sheets are due to teachers by Tuesday, January 22nd.  Feel free to turn in earlier than the due date.  Here is more Program Information and the Reading Log.  You only need to print and return the completed Student Reading Log.  For questions, contact Nikki Wolverton (nicholewolverton@yahoo.com) or Louann Benbow (benbowunit@gmail.com).

I-FIVES go to: The Holiday Gift Shop committee for organizing such a great event and all of the volunteers who made it possible! Students loved buying gifts for family and friends.

SAVE THE DATE: Our next PTA Meeting is Tuesday, January 8 @ 7pm. All parents are welcome! Refreshments will be served and childcare is available.
